My objective was to find in the Odyssey theme, elements that would inspire me to produce works using a rhythmic, repetitive and monochromic pattern. The ‘Εpic poem’ is a mosaic interpretation of the dactylic exametrical verse used in Odyssey. Each tessera stands for a syllabus and its shape, square or vertical rectangular, represents the lengthy or short syllabus, following the strict rule that governs them in the dactylic exametrical verse. ‘Penelope’ is an abstract depiction of the textile that Odysseus’s wife was weaving, simple, white and awaiting … The ‘Sirens’ , through the use of more unusual and beautiful material , such as the dessert rose, try to reproduce the beauty of the song of these mythic creatures. The ‘Suitors’ follow the same philosophy of abstract, plain and simple in design mosaics
